Mehera’s

“Mehera’s” is what I call this style of scarves:

They are knit double stranded with one variegated and one very soft yarn,

needles # US 13, with 18 or 20 or 22 sts, in rib 1:1,

and knit one below, which makes them wonderful and soft.

It takes a little planing in advance (to learn more look at Laura Bryant about yarn repetitions),

but after that it’s just knit and see what the yarn is doing.

Hobo 2017

‘Hobo 2017’ is a simple pattern, that is meant mostly for home, as a ‘cover-all’ hat.

It’s knitted double stranded on giant US19 needles.

Start with magic loop, inc in garter st till approx. 30 sts,

then knit to desired height.

They are much fun to knit & wear, soft & cozy!

The Ancient One, in pinks

For whatever reason, at the end of the year,

I always get the urge to knit this portrait again.

I love this picture and I love working on it.

It is not an easy task, and always requires courage.

So, this is my 2017 Ancient one.

Knit-wise it’s done in what I call water color quilt style,

which means intarsia with knitting the border st with both strands

(so no overlapping yarns).

Needles: US 5.

Size: approx 12.5X18″.

Here are some of previous years:

Mossing around

This pattern is a part of Elfy book 2 (not in print yet). In the story the blanket is knitted by 2 mushrooms out of moss, for their good friend Elfy.

I tried different ways (see below), but the above is my favorite. The most difficult part was to knit shapes that are more natural, and not round perfect circles.

The border is seed st, background in reverse st.st. and the circles are double stranded with the background yarn.
